The most important thing is the compressor's efficiency
When selecting a compressor for a sandblasting booth, the compressor's actual capacity is more important than the tank capacity. A large tank can only temporarily store air, but during continuous sandblasting, the compressor must continuously meet the nozzle's demand.
The nozzle determines air consumption
The larger the nozzle diameter and the higher the operating pressure, the greater the compressed air requirement. Therefore, the compressor should be selected based on the specific sandblaster and nozzle used, not solely on engine power or tank size.
What happens when the compressor is too small?
If the compressor's capacity is too low, the operating pressure begins to drop. The sandblaster loses efficiency, surface cleaning takes longer, and the compressor can operate virtually continuously.
Which compressor should I choose?
It's best to choose a compressor with sufficient capacity to meet the blaster's needs. This allows for stable pressure during extended operation and reduces the compressor's continuous operation at maximum load.
